Saw this today in IMAX 3D. Thought the story was a great tribute to the original and the cgi and special effects were visually stunning.

The critics I respect hated it. Hated Franco and Kunis. Hated that it wasn't musical. Hated the CGI as proficient yet unmemorable. No charm.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the critics have it at 60% and the fans have it at 82%. 187 critic reviews, 41,000 fan reviews.

I want to see it. Most of the negative reviews on rotten tomatoes seem to not be able to get over the fact that it isn't as good as the original. If that's all they have to harp about, then I'll take my chances on the movie.
