With the NC this evening, I am just wondering how many current UK players will declare for NBA, after tonight? Also how many McD's AA, who have not declared for a college are left?

teague jones davis mkg lamb miller
I think all but Teague leave. Davis' and MKG's stock won't get any higher by returning. Jone's stock probably took a hit by returning this year or at most stayed the same. Lamb's stock might rise if he returns for 1 more season if he can add a little more to his game but he runs the risk of NBA GM's believing he has little upside if he returns and doesn't improve much. Miller has played very well down the stretch and he might want to enter the draft while his stock is at it's highest point. Teague's point guard play needs a lot of improvement. He would benefit by returning for another season. What could it hurt him is if Kentucky brings in a better freshman point guard.

What will be interesting see is if the Squid is able to reload with a bunch of highly ranked spring hold-outs. There's a lot of talent still left on the board that are listing UK.

They have NC States Ryan Harrow coming in next year. Sat out his transfer year this year. I think he is pegged as the starter if Teague leaves.

Jones, MKG, and Davis are likely gone, Miller is a senior. That leaves Lamb, Teague and Wiltjer as players who get over 10 minutes a game.

Wiltjer is good but he's going nowhere.

Lamb reminds me of Ashton Gibbs but taller and slightly more athletic. He could be a second rounder but probably won't move into the first round unless it's a weak draft or he becomes a PG. I think gone, esp. if they win.

Teague has played very well recently and his stock is probably as high as it's going to be. He is likely the first or second PG taken ATM (just a very weak PG draft). I say gone.

I think the 3 guaranteed lotto picks will leave, but I doubt Teague will. Not sure about Lamb either as I don't think he's a first round pick, but then again he's probably never going to be one if he's not now, so why not go?

As a gambling aficionado, a minor pet peeve of mine is when people pose a question like "what's the over-under on [blank]?", when they're really just asking "how many [blank] will occur?"

What you're supposed to do is ask (for example): "2.5 UK players will leave early for the draft. Over or under?"

I think Davis, MKG, T. Jones are gone. I think Lamb stays, but wouldn't be shocked if he goes. Teague definitely stays.

Miller is a senior.
I thought he might have been a junior, but as someone pointed out, he's still a valid answer to the qustion posed. I think he played himself into a draft pick. I haven't payed enough attention to see if he's a likely 1st or late 2nd round pick, but at the college level, he's a kid who's not afraid to make plays late in games. It sure helps to have that type of player on your team when the freshmen hit a situation they've not been in, such as needing to make a play that will win you or cost you the NC with the nation watching. If it's a close game, it will be very interesting to see what players want to step or step back for either team.

Not that this thread is about that, but any one like to guess who is or are the likely players to do either tonight? I have a feeling Miler will step up. He might not have the last say, but he's going to be a player who's going to knock down a critical late shot tonight. Let's see if that happens. I guess there's the 3rd group of players who step up and shouldn't. Those are the ones who become myopic and can't seem to get rid of the ball to someone else when they should. Brandon Knight, last season, case in point! If he simply shared the ball in that game against UConn, our Huskies just might not have had our 3rd NC. I should have sent him a Christmas card. :)

Miller is a glue guy. He has stepped in for Liggins and done everything Liggins did for UK last year. Not sure if he is a lottery pick, but is probably closer to a late first or early second rounder. As good as he is, he doesn't do anything great (Denham Brown syndrome if you will). He will make some team very happy in the second round.
