It wasn't really open cuts to the basket. Both CD and CW were beaten off the dribble any number of times, and CD had a lot of issues defending Arike on the block. UConn started to send help when CD was isolated down low and ND stopped taking advantage of the mismatch. UConn was able to play M2M virtually all game which kept their forwards nearer the rim. UConn was able to block out both Bri and Shepard and get rebounds which allowed their forwards to dribble up in transition.

On the other hand when the game started Mabrey defended CW and Arike defended CD. Once Squeaks started balling they switched marks in the 2nd period and UConn stopped looking for or couldn't find her. Lou's game is non stop movement. Defensively ND face guarded her. So in the 2nd half Lou worked off the dribble and created for herself. Lou became the difference offensively when Pheesa sat because of her ability to create and shoot a heretofore unseen fade away jumper from the baseline, which she hit twice.
