I did some checking and we’re at 33% but don’t forget that was with Polley. We compare favorably to many decent teams. Vandy just went 0 for 25 in a game and still shoots over 30%. I have to admit we are better than I thought but I’m concerned going forward without Polley. Need AG and Vital to step up.

With Polley we're 33%, without him we're 31%. Alterique, CV, Akok, Bouk, Sid, BAdams, and Gaffney are all between 29.9% (Gilbert) and 33.3% (Bouk and Sid). Bottom line, we have a lot of mediocre 3 pt shooters, no standouts.

On two point baskets the team is at 47%. So we're getting .94 points per shot on 2-point shots and .93 points per shot on 3-point shots. Ideally, the two should be equal, which they are, so we're balancing 2-point and 3-point shooting well, however, the percentages should be higher. An efficient offense should be over 1 point per shot.

For comparison, Gonzaga right now has the kenpom #1 offense, they are shooting 38.7% on 3s for 1.16 points per shot and 56.6% on 2s for 1.13 points per shot.

Given our offensive limitations, this team will have to hang its hat on defense.

Over the last 5 games CV is teetering around 20% from 3 after coming off a 40% year. We need him to step up.

Bouk hasn’t hit a single 3 in 5 games... I won’t say he’s due but he really needs to expand his game if he wants to play at the next level.

For all I harp on lack of inside-out passes and creating in-rhythm 3s, we miss a ton of open looks. It’s on the team to start knocking them down

I’m as big a CV supporter as you’ll find but his jumper has always been streaky and his stroke is flawed. Maybe he’ll get hot but I have very little confidence that his shooting is ever going to be something we can count on. He’s just as likely to shoot 20% as he is 40% with that form. We need guys like Sid and Bouk to step it up a little. AG is slowly getting better and better. I think his percentage will continue to climb after a brutal start to the season.

Eye test says it sucks without Polley with little hope beyond Vital to make a shot from behind the arc.

We're just got a good shooting team and there's very little that can be done in the middle of the year to improve those percentages. These guys just need to hit the gym in the summer and hoist up 500 shots a day.

RJ Cole shot like 38% from 3 his 2nd yr at Howard. I think he avg making 2.5 threes a game. That should help next year.
