November Texas was a top ten team. I am pretty sure there have been scientists who have worked for years on a formula that shows the rate of decay of Rick Barnes teams, and the simplified version is that they tend to start out like gangbusters and gradually self-combust from then forward.
I was going to post after the Texas game that I was not that impressed with them and figured they wouldn't be nearly as good as they were being projected to be. But I decided not to jinx UConn and they didn't have Taylor so I decided not to say anything. I just don't think their guards are that good and we all know college basketball is a guard's game.
That game wasn't a cause of the team's downfall, it was a symptom. They went without a field goal for the last 7:33 (!), with exactly two points scored by someone not named Boatright in the last 12:53.
