I see the newspapers describe the incident as:

Wolf had refused to leave an on-campus apartment and got into a physical altercation with the woman who lives there, according to the arrest report.
He "grabbed the hair of the victim and pushed her head," according to the report. "Wolf also knocked the glasses off of the victim's face with his hand. Wolf continued to remain in the apartment and was subsequently arrested by police."

Yes this is bad but going back to my college days I can kind of think the kid is drunk (high) and has an incident with his (supposed) girlfriend. Being physical with her is not acceptable but he gets the following charges: third-degree burglary, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

That makes little sense to me or else the description of what happened is lacking. Who presses charges in this instance the girlfriend?

Now I won't bring up what the mens fb players on ND do to coeds (oh I just did)....sorry do others think the charges sound quite drastic given what the papers say occurred?

I am not trying to downplay what happened and if he hit anyone 9especially a women) that's a problem, but can't the campus police just cite him with disorderly conduct? Am I being naive as to what actually happened?

I'm not sure anyone really knows what happened yet. But to simplify, if he hit her he's done for good here. If he didnt we will probly see him next year in my opinion.

I thought Kirk King and even Ben G had some women issues at UConn. I know times have changed but do you consider "grabbed the hair of the victim and pushed her head" meaning he hit her?

I am not trying to be insensitive, rahter trying to find out are the cops "downplaying or "up playing" what happened. Does "grabbed the hair of the victim and pushed her head" really mean he beat the hell out of her?

Kirk King and Ruslan Inyatkin were my next door neighbors in Eddy Hall. I can tell you Kirk never had "woman issues" while at UConn. ;)

Anyone who is male and married has women issues.:) I'm with you about the specific circumstances. Would love to know if he grabbed her hair as she was pulling away and that caused her head to jerk which caused her glasses to fall off, is her hair long and was he trying to grab her shirt and yanked her hair and head, did he slap her, did he punch her etc. There is a whale of difference depending on all this. And we may never know the events that actually happened.

Hate to say it but sometimes the level of stardom/notoriety comes into play. Some stars can do no wrong. Non stars have an uphill battle. Wolf has an uphill battle if those allegations are true.

I was a student at UConn during the Gordon years, and what I heard was pretty disturbing. BG basically open fisted a girl across the face, and missed no time. It sounds like Wolf didn't come close to that level but he still duckked up big time. Things have certainly changed in Storrs, and I have no problem making an example of Wolf. A player of his ability was very very fortunate to be wearing a Husky uniform, and he blew it. It's time to set the standard that this won't be tolerated.

Andy Katz said that Wolf refused to apologize to the girl.

I wonder if this would go away if he did.

That's not what Katz said. Katz reported that Wolf apologized to the university, the team and his family. Here is the actual quote "I'm sorry for what I put the university through, what I put the coaches through, the people of the university, my teammates and my family,"

Then Katz added "but not to the girl." However, no one knows if he apologized to the girl or not. He just didn't do it publicly in his statement. I thought it was sloppy reporting at best. And there is a huge difference between what he said and how Katz spun it.

man katz was being really disloyal there. I can't believe Coach Ollie didn't use his presser to host a public attempt at humiliating him.

Apologizing is the same as admitting you did something wrong. Maybe he doesn't feel as If he did. Ok I'm done speculating, I hate doing so.

Not justifying anything since Wolf by all accounts acted stupidly - however when Jacobs wrote a column last week - almost with the premise that he was guilty of assault when he wasn't even charged with assault - the scales of unfairness start tipping.

The reality is that Wolf is disposable, in fact Calhoun probably wished this happened last year when he wanted Wolf to transfer to open up a scholarship for Drummond. Yes, sometimes talent plays a role in what happens like it or not.

He offered him to transfer due to his playing time, and Andre of course. And "disposable" is not the correct word. If he did less than assumed I for one would welcome his minutes back. That is assuming there were exaggerations...........as disposable as you may think he is we may have won with him there yesterday as he may have grabbed a couple crucial rebounds where others couldn't......I just hope if innocent he's okay and if it was a young mans stupid mistake and he's not a repeat offender, wherever he goes things work out. Doubt the kid's an idiot......he stayed with us through some tough times!!

Actually the thrust of my post was he was being unfairly attacked by Jacobs given the charges. I also agree he has been more effective than Tyler against good teams.
