I'm of the opinion that we should all be rooting for Washington in this series and beyond. They have a ton of cap room next summer, they are KD's hometown team, and Wittman has, on occasion, been on the hot seat.

I never thought Ollie would be tempted by the Oklahoma City opening, but if Washington are trying to lure KD home next spring... well, I think it would be a hard job to turn down. Wall, Beal, KD, Porter, Gortat & Nene as a six-man core is easily as good as anything in the East, has more balance than OKC, and they have an ownership group that will actually spend money.

If they make a deep run this postseason and then have a strong year in 2015/16, they will have to offer Wittman an extension. Which means they won't pursue KO.

So... go Wizards.

Unfortunately I have to believe this will be our lot in basketball life for many years to come. Unless Ollie fails I expect the NBA to always be courting him. They are persistent, deaf and hate being rejected.

For sure, and I expect him to leave eventually. But looking at the list of "most attractive jobs" over the next 3-5 years, I honestly think taking over Washington next spring is an easy No. 1. Wall's a top 3 PG, Beal is an elite floor-stretcher, Gortat is a rim-protecting pick-and-roll finisher, and Porter is starting to look like a 3-and-D specialist this postseason.

If I was KD there is no way I'd stay in Oklahoma City over returning home to that group. And if I was KO, I'd be more tempted by making that jump than any other opportunity.

Jesus.

Are people really this worried about Ollie jumping to the NBA in the next few years? I don't get it.

I am thoroughly enjoying the "grizzled veteran mentoring the young guys and providing toughness" phase of Paul Pierce's career. He's been great to watch with this group.

A Wizards-Cavs ECF with Pierce and James going at it would be great.

He's always had the so called "old man game" now it's a little less pretty but still take him out of the equation and the Wiz don't even smell the second round.

What I take from this series is watching the outstanding ball movement by both teams and the ability of the 4's and even fives (Horford) to handle and pass the ball with good judgment to make decisive plays. In addition to his rebounding ability and ability to create offense in the low post, this is what Shonn Miller can bring to UConn.

I think Beal will be a really good player, but it must be tough being his teammate tonight. He's absolutely killed Washington's ball movement and taken a number of bad shots in the 2nd half.
