This is perhaps the worst opening campaign for any rookie class. Brogdon has been the best, and he only looks like a solid rotation player.
That said, there are some bright spots. Simmons will be a stud. He is another "unicorn." Brown will be excellent. He has played light years better recently. Not sure his ceiling, but I easily envision him as a better Jae Crowder (bigger and more playmaking). Hield has gotten too much hate. An atrocious beginning has biased many a journalist. I think he will be a starting 2 for a long time. I also like J.Murray and the aforementioned Brogdon.
The class will wind up being good or bad depending on how the high upside, low floor guys turn out. The Ingrams, Makers, Benders and Chriss's. I am very high on one of them, but look forward to seeing the development of all 4.
13 was a disaster but gets a tad better each year as Giannis inches towards being a top 10 talent and Gobert, Adams, Porter and KCP all have been or are on track to being maxed out.
