Nova is just whoopin' up on VCU right now. I really like the VCU frenetic style, but it seems that "havoc" defense is basically just a euphemism for giving up absolutely wide open shots on every possession. Nova has just shredded them in the 2nd half.

Havoc is fun and it can be successful against many teams but they will always run into teams that show the whole system is not much more than a gimmick.

I will probably be heavily criticized for this, but I say it anyways. I really like Coach Wright. Good coach, cool guy.

Awkward line up VCU starts 4 guards, no one over 6-6

I turned it on just in time to see Terry Larrier airball a 3.

Oh, and Dan Dakich is still the worst.

I tuned in earlier just in time to see him make a tough shot off an inbounds pass. A 20-footer off a curl where he squared as he elevated. Might have been the only thing he did all day, but it at least showed potential at his size to make that shot.

I don't know why people (a lot of them on this board) were so willing to shrug off the 'Nova victory last season in the tournament. They were a really good team and they returned four starters this year. They're a top ten team IMO.

Problem with havoc is strong guards will chew it up. Problem with Novas small ball is a patient half court team can wear them down. That's what makes the tourney great. All about who's hot and matchups

Nova is a good team they just have to make sure to utilize Pinkston early and often and then itll open their tre ball
