USF DB Childs stable after shooting incident

University of South Florida defensive back Hassan Childs was injured in a shooting incident Saturday night, the school announced.

Childs, 22, was shot multiple times in the arm and torso and is currently hospitalized. He is in stable condition.

"We are deeply concerned that an incident occurred overnight in which one of our players, Hassan Childs, was injured in a shooting," head coach Charlie Strong said in a statement.

"Thankfully, Hassan is in stable condition and being well cared for, and no one else was injured," Strong said. "There is an ongoing investigation of the incident and we are in the process of gathering further information. Out of respect for the integrity of the investigation, we cannot comment further at this time."

Hate seeing things like this happen. Hope the young man is alright.

Moral of the story?

South Florida DB shot after pulling gun in road rage incident in stable condition

>>Tampa Police spokesman Lt. Steve Lee told the Times that the other man involved in the incident, Jovanni Jimenez, called Lee to report that Childs had drawn a gun on him. Jimenez said Childs pointed a gun at him and his family, at which point Jimenez fired three shots in self defense. It is not clear what started the argument<<

I read the article in the OP wrong- thought the other guy pointed the gun at him hence my commentary on it.

Well, the narrative took all of 36 hours to completely flip the script.
