Interesting piece of info from NHR's Chip Malafronte's Sunday Gravy colume about the process to find Rossomondo's replacement:
>>The University of New Haven has hired a national search firm to find a replacement for football coach Pete Rossomando, and ex-Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano will be heavily involved in the hiring process, according to a source.
Shawn Lutz, the associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Slippery Rock (Pa.), will interview with New Haven this week.
The involvement of Sparano, a 1982 New Haven graduate and head coach from 1994-98, could mean candidates with ties to UNH, like Elon offensive coordinator Chris Pincince and Holy Cross receivers and special teams coach Cazzie Kosciolek, will be targeted. Pincince was once an assistant for the Chargers; Kosciolek played for and coached with Sparano at New Haven.
Sparano recently signed a two-year contract extension to remain offensive line coach of the Oakland Raiders.<<
