Looking for a place to watch Saturday's game in New Haven. Don't really care for Buffalo Wild Wings, so I was looking to see if anyone else had suggestions for places to watch

If I were hitting the New Haven bars for the game I'd go to (in this order):

1. Archie Moore's
2. Anna Liffey's
3. My couch

I live in downtown New Haven. I know for some of the games, your options are pretty limited, but for ESPN, everyone should have it.

Liffey's would be my first choice, but it is a soccer bar first, and a sports bar second, and there will be Premier League games on at that time and a bunch of soccer fans, so it might not be super fun. I haven't watched games at Archie Moore's really, and it's not downtown, but should be a solid option. Cask Republic will have the games on but their TV's are kind of crap.

The new Tavern has a giant television and will almost certainly show the game and has an open air bar, but it's not a particularly good bar -- where Black Bear used to be. But it's not bad. Kelly's is another option.

The Trinity is another option but again, as an Irish pub, they tend to show soccer very early.

I'd probably go:

1. Archie Moore's
2. Kelly's/Tavern
3. Liffey's (only cause of soccer)
4. Trinity

I live in greater New Haven and the idea of a consistent New Haven Boneyarder and friends bar is a great idea. As long as there is cable/satellite, any place is serviceable. I hope we can decide on one/a few.

As for this week, I already have plans to meet my college roommate at a place in Bethel that is halfway between us -- The Meeting House Pub. Very good food, great beer selection.

For the record, I just got a Facebook post from Anna Liffey's with their Rugby World Cup viewing schedule. That will not be a great option for college football Saturdays for a while (although I like rugby so I may make it down some other day at some point).

The Uconn Alumni event will be at the Tavern Downtown in Hartford. Probably the wrong thread. Just wanted to put that out there.

What is the television situation at Kelly's? I always walk by there but I've never actually been in there. I usually go to Liffey's on Saturday mornings for EPL, but with that and the Rugby World Cup going on, they will have that on tomorrow as opposed to the UConn game.

I know that Cask Republic and Prime 16 are open at 11 am, so I might go to one of those places, although the tv situation at either place leaves a lot to be desired

Kelly's TV's are not a lot better. They do have one huge one but it's in the restaurant area.

You might want to try Tavern New Haven (former Black Bear), they have some really huge TV's and the open air space is nice. And they have a few good brews on tap.

It's not like a great New Haven bar but honestly, if it was me, that's probably where I'd watch it. I'm going over a buddy's house in Milford, though, and we're doing a "tailgate party" for the game.

I just moved to downtown New Haven and was thinking about hitting up a bar for the game this Fri. Tavern does have nice big TVs as long as we can confirm they will have game sound(they often have live bands now).

I may stop by there if y'all are going to be there -- I'm having drinks with friends and live near there. Right across the street really.

How was last game here? I don't have ESPNNews so I was thinking of hitting up Tavern tomorrow around 3 to watch the game. If others will be there. Otherwise may just go over my buddy's house in North Haven.
