Pretty good job by Howland overcoming the negative publicity lately (SI article) and the last couple seasons being subpar. We'll see how it works out for him.

It will be interesting to see if the ex-UNCers get along with the new recruits. The Wear twins and Drew III do not have the best reps for being teammates and Josh Smith is a lazy SOB.

That said, sick recruiting class. #2, #5, #26, #41 by ESPN.

Unfortunately, for those who love to hate UK, UK can still reclaim #1 if they get Bennett. That would give UK #1, #7, #13, #15, #40.

Those two classes are just insane. I don't think UConn has ever had a class of recruits that highly regarded.

Arizona is pretty close also with #4, #9, #16 and #65. Of course they don't have a decent PG at Zona.

Problem with UCLA is that they have the slowest team in the upper rung of D1 ball. They were wheezing when they played SJU last year and overall team extremely slow. That doesn't change with the additions of Kyle Anderson and Jordan Adams are slow as molasses. Parker is another big guy who isn't speedy. Who is ucla going to use to penetrate except for Shabazz? The entire team consists of slow post-players.

Makes one really appreciate what the coaching staff has done with what they have over the years. I think this is really not appreciated or highlighted enough. Drummond was perhaps our biggest recruit ever and turned out as a 'pretty decent/nothing special' freshman performer. I won't go as far to say we don't need them, only because our history has already proven that.

Shabazz is very fast, Drew is quick (though not a good PG). The rest of the team is very slow. Slow is how their coach likes to play though.

Those are some impressive classes.

Just a little tip to all ye posters. One does not need to add OT to topics like this one. This is a hoops board after all. It doesn't always have to be about UConn to be On Topic.
