The Official Website of the 117th U.S. Open Championship Conducted by the USGA

Erin Hills....fascinating site. Public course....wide/wide fairways...very/very long...nasty bunkers. Rain a distinct possibility over the 4 days which will widen the fairways even more and make it even longer...and easier. Virtually no trees....looks beautiful on TV....definitely not the traditional parkland course with narrow fairways and many trees hugging those fairways.

Fescue rough....not the wispy type in Britain...pretty thick and with rain particularly nasty.

Should be interesting to watch. Course seems gettable at least in the early stages. Fowler is already -4. At the same time, Dustin Johnson and Jon Rahm have been on fire all year and they are +3 and +4 right now, so it is certainly a test.

I didn't watch much today, but did see some. I thought the aerials looked good--green fairways and white bunkers, unlike Chambers Bay, which was downright ugly.

I was surprised by the low scores.

Shinnecock next year. I hope to be there. Pebble in 2019 for my 4th time.

I still think Fox is horrible for golf. They should stick to football and baseball.
