I work for a Property & Casualty insurance company and one of my duties is setting up catastrophes in our claim system so that the my company can gather the damage estimates to roll up into that number that will be thrown out there on the news - "estimated damages for this storm is $100 million".
As I work from home today, with the Weather Channel on in the background, it is proving to be another early season kick off for nasty, widespread, damaging storms. I thought after last year's wicked weather this year would be calmer. Proved to be correct for the winter, at least here in New England. But the tornadic activity is starting even earlier than last year. It may be another scary spring.
Saying prayers for the safety of everyone in the path of these storms.
