He outlasted Bo VanPelt, who finished with 3 bogies on the last 3 holes. Tiger looked solid, going about 50 holes without a bogey. It was very, very hot out there. Hard for spectators to focus.

Tiger's 18th was a thing of beauty. Huge, towering drive followed by a beautifully carved low 9-iron to a devilish, two-tiered green. On a 523 yard hole no less. (Downhill, but still.)

Vintage Tiger.

He kept the ball in play off the tee, including a 343-yard 3-wood on #6. (I do not have that shot in my bag!) His swing looks pretty good. He made a clutch putt on #17 to take the lead for the final time. I think he had his A-/B+ game this week. He's a threat.

It was more his putting and short game that let him down on the weekend at the US Open, but his ball-striking (some wayward drives today notwithstanding) has been very good to excellent for weeks now. His spine angle is extremely stable and he is holding shots off very well when he wants maximum control. If the wind comes up at the Open for 2 or more days he should be the prohibitive favorite. Likewise if his putting and short game hold up he should finish top 5 even if conditions are calm. (He admits his short game is not quite where it was due to more practice on his full shots.)

Nobody is working the ball flight as well as TW right now. It's scary.

Yeah, he may be back for real. If he has confidence in his swing and focuses his practice on the short game, look out!
