. . . illustrates the extreme difficulty (not to mention the vital importance) in evaluating talent and projecting how it will perform at the next level, short- and long-term.

The consensus #1 pick, Joel Embiid, has just been diagnosed with a foot injury requiring surgery. It appears that Wiggins and Parker will go #1 and #2, and even that is subject to change. For purposes of this conversation, assume those first two and give your thoughts on, say, the next five picks (through the Celtics at #6 and the Lakers at #7). Compare your predictions with dozens of, um, experts and see who most closely matches what will take place at the real NBA draft on June 26.

Non-NBA fans, have a good day.

Real hard-core NBA fans get bonus points for predicting where LeBron, Carmelo and Kevin Love will play next season.

Good luck.

It's all a crap shoot. I saw a lot of Parker on television and at the ACC tournament; I am not sold. Admittedly, I rarely like Duke players as pro prospects. My favorite player is T. J. Warren from NC State; a scoring machine. I will come back to this thread after more thought. Hopefully, my picks will differ considerably from the experts.

Miami appears to be an aging team. since LeBron's legacy is incumbent upon winning, he has to go to team with good young talent. I'd like Chicago if that was not already Michael's town. My prediction is he stays in Miami and plays on unconcerned about the legacy.
Carmelo Anthony will end up close to home in Washington.
Kevin Love will be in San Antonio allowing Tim Duncan to play one more year of reduced minute ultra efficiency.

I have LeBron staying in Miami. Carmelo will be a Rocket. And Kevin Love will be a Warrior.

With the draft, like VAU said; it is a crap shoot. But I have:

1: Jabari Parker-Cavs
2. Andrew Wiggins-Bucks
3. Joel Embiid-76ers
4. Dante Exum-Magic
5. Noah Vonleh- Jazz
6. Julius Randle- Celtics
7. Aaron Gordon-Lakers
8. Marcus Smart-Kings
9. Doug McDermott- Hornets
10. Zach LaVine-76ers

Talked to an NBA GM who is close to the agent, hear that the foot injury prognosis is not as long as they are reporting but that the player doesn't want to go to Cleveland and a current top player wants out.

I'd take either Parker or Randle above Wiggins. Even think about Smart before Wiggins depending on my team's needs.

LeBron to the Lakers?

Melo to Houston.

Love to the Spurs.

There!

PS: Whoever gets McDermott will be one lucky team!

Will be interesting, Parker purposely tanked his workout with with the Cavs, Wiggins puts out a pre draft workout video. With Lebron out their on the market interesting. Parker to the Cavs doesn't fill their need. Some teams like the Knicks are thinking ahead to Thon Maker the 2016 kid that's will reclassify up for an early graduation.

The Celtics should take a flying leap at Embiid.
Some local buzz is that the Miami Heat are very interested in
Shabazz Napier...they have pick #26...and may be willing to trade up
to get him since he might be gone by their own pick. His senior year in Storrs
did him a ton of good.

Remember after the national championship game some guy named LeBron
said if a team wanted a point guard, Bazz should be selected ahead of all others.
Uhh..Miami needs a point guard.

Parker with LeBron and Kylie on the Cavs?

You have the great point guard, great power forward (Parker) and best shooting guard in the NBA.

Wiggins could work in Parker's place but not as well.

Embiid may be like a lot of the other big men who have proved to be injury prone but I hope not. It'd be a gamble.

Chalmers is a solid point guard. That's not why they lost.
