OT: The UConn baseball team...

plays 9th ranked Oklahoma State tonight at 7:00 on ESPNU for the right to go the the Super Regional against 8th ranked Texas Tech. UConn knocked off Oklahoma State last night 5-2. Jake Wallace, UConn's ace out of the bullpen and widely regarded as one of the top pitchers in D1, was sensational, striking out all 7 batters he faced to end the game. Last night the Huskies only had 8 hits, but in the first three games of the tournament they had an astonishing 58 hits. Win or lose tonight they have acquitted themselves pretty well so far...but it would be nice to make it the the Super Regional!

This hasn't been a great hitting team, but boy the bats came alive in the regionals. Wallace is probably the best reliever in college baseball and a likely first round draft pick. Anthony Prato's not too bad either:



They are a fun team to watch.
