Dodd believes that the pool of coaches for UT to choose from is too narrow?

For UT, you can take the entire population of potential head coaches, remove perhaps a dozen names from that list and then you have the pool they can select their coach from. It is possible that no university can cast a wider net when looking for a football coach.

Or can afford to pay more money.
 
Yeah...I guess it makes for a good article, but it really isn't difficult to find a coach for Texas. For example...why would Kirby Smart wait for the possibility of being HC at Alabama? Is that a better job than Texas? Alabama is in a tougher conference...tougher recruiting. I think Texas is the better job. Strong at UL? While UL put up a good chunk of change for Strong...it isn't the type of money that Texas could put up.

Also...I agree with Sportsart...I can't believe that only 6 Longhorns have been drafted in the last 3 drafts. Either talent isn't being developed ar Texas kids are highly overrated.
