So, the Knickerbockers just parted with a first round pick in a loaded 2014 draft, another first rounder in 2016, and second round picks for the next three years. And who did they acquire? Andrea Bargnani, a seven footer who shot under 40% from the field last season (and under 44% for his career), doesn't play a lick of defense, and can't rebound. He's also scheduled to make over 10 million for the next two years even though the Knicks have already devoted over 50 million in annual salary to Amare Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, and Tyson Chandler.
I'm not trying to be a - I have no problem with the Knicks as a franchise and their roster isn't unlikeable. I'm just trying to figure out why the hell the Knicks thought this would improve their roster for next season when they were significantly more efficient with Carmelo at power forward last season and now appear bent on juggling three frontcourt players in Carmelo, Amare, and Bargs who are notorious ball stoppers and poor defenders. Unless there is another move coming where the Knicks flip Amare for a guard and Bargs is basically the designated instant offense off the bench, is this move as baffling to you guys as it is to me?
