to the World Series this year 
and UConn back in the BE in November so 2020 is not a lost cause. The teams I root for haven't seen the post-season since 2016 so I'm grasping for anything to give me some sports elation:
UConn - no tourney since 2016 but obviously was in CBB heaven really from 1990 through 2014 as one of the 3 or 4 most relevant teams in the country for 25 years. Just being back in the BE next year will feel like a return to relevance but need some success soon. Outlook is positive
Mets - no playoffs since 2016 wildcard, played in 2015 WS but no title since 1986. They need to capitalize on Degrom and Noah and win a title soon before the window closes. Outlook is positive
Giants - no playoffs since 2016 wildcard and 2011 Superbowl win. The Eli era had to be the biggest boom or bust run ever hence the career .500 record for Eli. Won 2 Superbowls but otherwise a string of Wildcard losses or sub .500 seasons. Outlook is mixed
Knicks - no playoffs since 2013 and last title was 1973. The 90's teams were awesome to watch even though never got over the hump. Now they are probably one of the most dysfunctional teams in sports. Outlook is negative
