16 - Petain, a hero of WWI, but an old man by the time of Vichy France.
18. Badly - he died - killed by natives, if I am not confusing him with Cook (who absolutely was killed by natives, in Hawai'i). Magellans end was perhaps the Philippines or Indionisia.

24. Lyric from "If I Loved You," a gorgeous Rodgers and Hammerstein tune from the musical Carousel. Sung in the movie by Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones.

15. Prudence..and...
19. New Mexico, where I was last week

18. Killed in the Philippines by the great great great great great great grandfather of President Duterte

20. Tanganyika and Zanzibar.

21. King Zod - New Krypton; King Zog – Albania
23. Patrick Gray

24. Lyric from "If I Loved You," a gorgeous Rodgers and Hammerstein tune from the musical Carousel. Sung in the movie by Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones.

24. Thinking further about this, sung only by Gordon MacRae. He sang it to Shirley Jones.

17. Call Me Al - Paul Simon

14..Hey, Gamecock, DON'T INCLUDE THE QUESTION SHEET. But you and Drive are right. He's from South Africa.
Still waiting for the first from The Yukon and Borneo.

15..VAUC , with his 8-track device, has kept tabs on both Beatles songs. Dear Prudence & Polythene Pam.

16..It's a shame when a former hero undoes himself with later activity. Like Lindbergh becoming a Nazi sympathizer.
Knights and Game here, who still hide out from Nazi hunters.

17..Remember what I said about VAUC's 8-track.? It serves him well again.

18..Yes, 3 of you note he became a pincushion in the Philippines, while Knights announces his expertise in genealogy.

19..Pinot s a tourist who takes measurements.

20..Ed4 & VAUC put 1 & 1 together.

21..Sorry, gang, I didn't catch my typo. Nonetheless you forged on and made King Zog an Albanian.
Credit to SVC & Ed4.

22..Hint: He has confined himself to goat, pig and rat.

23..That great shredder L. Patrick Grey. SVC & VAUC saw the opportunity for recycling money.

24..What's that you say, Mrs. Rbny?
"My husband is great, but my one pet peeve is how often he does not do things on time. One example:
We plan on a musical, but by the time he got his act together, we were so late that we missed the first half of a lovely duet."
My sympathies, Mrs. Rbny.

25..And Big even includes their 1st names and spells correctly. High value here.

So don't delay, nail #22.

LOL
Wire chief, you have me perfectly pegged. All of my stereo equipment was purchased in the 70's; Still works; Still produces clean, crisp sound.
