21 - I'll re-guess 1880's? All I really remember is it was started early and languished partially done for decades.
23 - Portland? Where-ever it is, I've been there, now if I could only remember where I was told that factoid . . .
25 - I think rbny has it - a voting machine, mayhap? The scope of Edison's interests and inventions is amazing, although not everything was a success.

Enough with these dumb tests! this is a WCBB forum take this crap to another website

Wow, you must be in a foul mood today. It may be hard for you to believe, but some of us actually enjoy these tests. Wirechief always marks them "OT." You can ignore them if they offend you. I get along well in life by ignoring "OT" posts that may be interesting or important to others but not to me.

Well the mods aren't doing their job if they let this crap on this site! I suppose they will try to ban people for saying something about them when this idiot is the one who should be banned! I joined this site to talk uconn WCBB because thats what this forum is suppose to be about but i guess i was wrong!

It really isn't that difficult to avoid OT threads. You could give that a try.

Are you sure about the clue for #17, because I am pretty sure that my response is not related to Ms Warwick and that the song was not in The Bodyguard? The song, itself, was the title of a very good movie.

[mod edit]

Personally, I get irritated when non mods try to run the board and tell people what should or shouldn't be posted. I think they should be banned faster than....whatever. It is especially irritating when they invade multiple threads to spew their insults.

mod edit

couple of things here, Aj;

1. As you note,, there are "16 on the 1st page alone", and your total post count is about twice that. You might have noticed that there have been over 300 of these little quizzes, going back a couple a' years now. So, they've been long-lived, and successful, and often get pretty long threads going. Obviously - very obviously - some of us like them: why would you want to discourage that? Why would you use the sort of language that you do in your posts regarding something (and somebody) that is a long-established positive addition to the board?

2. Second, scolding the mods of the most successful WBB board on the net is even more foolish than going after a popular feature provided by a popular poster.

3. Lastly, like drinking and driving, drinking and posting often doesn't end well.

14..You start well as The Marl Quartet provide Martha Stewart in her orange jumpsuit.

15..Pinot gives us "cape" and knows that the hoary marmot is not part of the diet of the pack.
The Basenji IS African, but does not fit in the spaces.

16..True, zorro, on B'nai B'rith.

17..It is WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT? as VAUC points out. Now, I messed up, because I was confusing a memory that Whitney Houston (who is related to Dionne Warwick) was first offered the role, that went to Angela Bassett. As you say, it is Tina Turner's song.

18..VAUC & Marl are right on that he raced thoroughbreds.

19..Ed4 & zorro correctly place their origins way east, in India.

20..Rbny, knights & VAUC place him among the Quakers. Society of Friends
would also be acceptable.

21..Credit knights, VAUC, & geordi. It was 1888.

22..Many of you remember Dian Fossey.

23..Well, it wasn't VAUC's "final answer", but he does successfully include Eugene.
I'd imagine the city has cleaned up the food fight by now.

24..Zooey stars in The New Girl; I myself watch snatches, 'cause she's nice to look at.

25..Yup, sped up vote counting, as Rbny & Knights point out.

The Giants win 2 in a row?!!! Be still my heart.
