I think it was set pre-Civil War but written well after it.

I read the question as asking for the period the book was set in not when it was written.

I read the question as asking for the period the book was set in not when it was written.

I took it to mean when was it written but it seems like either interpretation is valid.

I think you are correct but don't tell WC that I said so.

I think the question needs to state "Huckleberry Finn" if it wants the period in which it was written. I think you got it right.

14..The 2 V's & Meyers identify Mitterand.

15..Wally & vtc hit on an animal autopsy.

16..Study in Scarlet, our Jersey lad stands alone.

17..Wally gives us Richard Wright, author of Native Son.

18..A white Russian is one who opposes the red revolution, but I can see why
2 of you would name a particular figure.

19..See silly ol' bear for this long ago piece of music.

20..My reference indicated their woodiness, vtc. It will be settled when geordi makes his next trip and examines the composition and gets back to us:) . Anyway, you are correct about Jerusalem.

21..Ally Sheedy & Molly Ringwold--husky is one of 4 with the lasses.

22..Commanches--vtc & geordi are helpful here.

23..First off, Knights, I'd be wary of bowing to vtc, as he may not let you up until your knees are bleeding. Anyway, if you chose the time of publication or the historical period Huck dwelt, you're all OK.

25..Not the ordinary soft-boiled, but about a minute in the shell makes for a salad ingredient.

Yes, I feel better; thanks for asking:).

Hey WC - If your knees are bleeding it's probably due to your fall. Hopefully, nothing more than your pride was injured.

No need to wait for Geordi. The steps are marble that have been wrapped with wood to protect them from wear and tear. Been there and didn't walk up them.
