Does anyone know of a bar relatively close to the rent that opens before 11. Wife does not want to tailgate but is willing to go early to a bar for a few cocktails, however, I can’t seem to find one that opens before 11 that serves food.

Maybe Frank's Willow Inn on Main?

If your wife doesnt want to tailgate I gueesing she isnt a Frank Willows Inn kinda of girl either. Tough to find a place to serve booze before 11 unless its downtown for a noon bball game. East Hartford has nothing good at all no matter what day or time Glastonbury or Buckland only real options and they wont be open neither will Maragritas

Thanks, looks like a nice place, unfortunately they also open at 11 :(

Downtown Hartford would be my vote. Closer than Manchester and if need be should be an easy enough taxi ride.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around the idea of someone that doesn't want to tailgate.

Yeah, I mean, at that point, you have to start considering divorce, right... ? ;)

I kid, I kid.

You could always go to a restaurant or diner and pour some booze in your drinks like teenagers.

She does not want to pack up the van for just her and I. At this point I'm just happy she will go

And yes I know I'm with the new logo I thought they would at least keep the block "C" instead of the baseball c

You can join ours. I'll send you a PM. And that goes for anyone else looking for place to hang. No obligation, stay as long or short as you want. I'm going out soon but I'll reply to any responses later tonight.

If she lets you keep wheels like that i have to throw away all of the preconceived opinions i may have hastily formed. She probably feels obligated to go full boat if you tailgate, but you need to let her know you can go low-key and keep it simple. I suggest you call up Waquoit, bring a twelve pack and something easy to throw on the grill, and go tailgate and enjoy yourself. Your wife can relax and enjoy herself instead of worrying about polishing the chrome on the HuskyWagon and planning a menu and you'll both have fun.
