They have now already over-corrected and the only reason a recession is possible is because they are so thick headed and ham handed. They have no patience. Their tools aren't meant to cause rapid changes. Monetary policy/spending plus war and covid supply chain issues and energy and food supply issues are wildly inflationary. But there are other things going on that are deflationary. If interest rates keep rising they are going to trigger a deflationary spiral and a lot of problems.
