12. Fitchburg (I should know, I used to live there)

9. Whitestone, Tri-Boro and Throgs Neck.

There is no such creature as a "throg." There used to be a colony of folks (Queens side) led by a chap named Throckmorton and the nickname Throg is to Throckmoron as Chuck is to Charles or Jack is to John. The colony was at a spot that was narrow (enough to build the bridge), thus "Throgs Neck," with no apostrophe.

The Bronx-Whitestone Bridge was constructed to enable people to get to the pre-WW II World's Fair. Originally two lanes each way with pedestrian walkways, now three lanes each way.

The Tri-Boro was recently named in honor of Robert F. Kennedy. Nobody notices or calls it that. Like the Governor Malcolm Wilson Tappan Zee Bridge up north (he is the fellow that succeeded Nelson Rockefeller).

1. Fantasy Fest is in Key West, eh? That makes sense. I was there once, in the morning, on a weekday in January, and, by New England standards it was pretty wild then!
6. Olympia, I believe, WC, but, in fairness, you asked where. In the northwest portion of Washington state, west of Seattle, abutting the Pacific and the Straits of Juan de Fuca (or somesuch).

1..Husky starts us off accurately with Key West, too risque for New Englanders.

2..Meyers is right in posting I-30.

3..Pinot & VTC properly announce Ontario.

4..Four of you name both--Paraguay & Bolivia.

5..And now a quintet with Yellowstone.

6..I know Pinot..not trying to be unfair, just asking for added info to enlighten others. Anyway several of you mention Washington, some specifying that it's Olympia Nat'l Park.

7..I must get more demanding; seven of you cite Salem. Couldn't fool anyone to mention Portland.

8..VTC, Best & VAUC with Colorado.

9..VAUC has Triboro, Whitestone & Throgs Neck. But if you want a history lesson see Kib.

10..I don't know where Best gets his familiarity with Nebraska counties, buyt the man is right on.

11..All over Mexico you are, but what you are searching for is Campeche.

12..Kib & Best say Fichburg, way to the Tpke's north.

13..The great metropolis:rolleyes: called Breezewood, Pa.
