OT: Some Wimbledon results

Serena won today; she and Venus are 1-1 in doubles, but much oof today is rained out.
Next up for Serena is last year's champ Kvitova.
Clijsters & Sharapova were knocked out in straight sets.
As I write, only centre court (with closed roof) has activity with Djokavic comfortably ahead of his countryman, Troicki.
Mardy Fish took the 1st set from Tsonga and then the rains came.

I figured Azarenka would beat Ivanovic, but love and one is a really poor showing by Ana.

Serena- Kvitova is going to be a slugfest. Zheng and Shvedova aren't pushovers, and those close wins by Serena weren't necessarily a bad thing...but she's in for a QF worthy of a final against Petra.

The experts sure got it wrong. they figured a close match between ivanovic and azarenka, with some giving Ana a chance at the upset. None of them picked Sharapova to go down. They also didn't expect Clijsters to go down either. and they expected Tsonga to beat Fish. of course that match is not over...

Both the Ivanovic and Clijsters defeats surprised me in their lack of closeness.

Lisicki is officially my new personal hero. Apologies to any Sharapova fans, but my mute button is tired of her, and so am I.

Now of someone could only beat Azarenka. i can't stand watching the screechers when they play. Serena grunts and screams, but not on every point. Sharapova and Azarenka are absolutely ridiculous. even the guys, who hit the ball probably 30% harder than the women, don't scream like that when they strike the ball. they even scream when they slice a little drop shot.

Tremendous win today for Serena over defending champion Kvitova. If she can keep playing like that, she could actually win her fifth Wimbledon. She's the only player to have won still in the women's draw.

Was glad to see Sharapova knocked out. I just hate that I have to listen to Azarenka scream throughout the match against Serena. I think Serena should be the favorite but Azarenka is so cocky and confident. I can't rule her out.

Sharapova is awesome. She's out there busting her butt for no reason other than the love of the game. She could easily have walked away, but chose instead to take the long, hard road back. Nothing but respect for her.

Azarenka, on the other hand, always annoyed me for some reason.

I don't think Kerber or Radwanska are ready for the pressure of a major final round. Obviously, Serena-Azarenka will be the clear favorite. Azarenka has given Serena fits historically, even when Serena was dominating and Azarenka was top 10 but not top five. Serena better bring her A game like she did against Kvitova.
