The peat phenols will fade with age in cask. The other factor is abv, or as I like to think: how much they watered it down. I think the sherry casks are why Wee Beastie works for me, and why I usually like the Laphroaig Cairdeas from wine or sherry casks (burly, but tamed by other cask influences).
