This is a financial win for Rutgers. They were gonna take a bath. Tickets sales were in the toilet for it. They get the rental fee back and get a home game back on campus.

That may be but not playing in Yankee stadium is a downer for sure for all of those Rutgers alumni in NYC.

P.S. They will still lose

I don't understand what the big deal is to play football in a baseball stadium. Baseball stadiums suck for football. You would think it would be a bigger thrill for these kids to play in an NFL stadium.
It was a really cool novelty the first two or three times. It's not as special anymore.

It still draws slightly more interest than a regular game and we need all the media attention we can get.

It's just a downer for the 3 that were going to attend.

Yankee Stadium is a terrible place to watch a football game (and frankly not as good for baseball as old Yankee Stadium in my opinion.) RU fans that I know will glad to have the game moved. It's on of those things that are cooler in concept than in reality.

Fenway is a somewhat better venue but baseball parks move the fans too far away from the field for football.

I had 50-yard line seats for a Yankee Stadium game. Obstructed view.

Having attended the Pinstripe Bowl I can attest that watching a football game in Yankee Stadium is awful. I get the novelty for a bowl game, but scheduling a regular season game when the Yankees could still be in season made no sense. Most Rutgers Fans hated the game, and are happy to see it canceled.

Rutgers just proved they don't own NYC as they claim with the complete failure to sell tickets. The B1G is regretting the decision to take in these losers.

It's an old college football tradition to play neutral games in baseball stadiums. Pro football didn't have huge stadiums for years. The Chicago Cardinals moved to Comiskey and the Bears moved to Wrigley. Giants played at Polo Grounds. Wish Polo Grounds was never demolished.

Football at baseball stadiums is a terrible idea.

If I was a Rutgers fan I'd be happy to have the home game back.
