Ms Felix dodged a bullet in the 100M finals dead heating for third. She will probably win this runoff for a chance to double in the 100 and 200. In a perfect world, Ms Felix would give up her 100M slot to Ms Tarmoh in an act of unselfishness.

I heard on the radio this morning that Tarmoh is considering pulling out of the race tonight...feels she was 'robbed' in the other race.
That photo to me looked like a tie. If Tarmoh pulls out, she will get some serious criticism....deserved imo. I still think there is a chance
that Allyson will withdraw to allow her that spot. Felix ran a great first 100 in her superb 200 finals....that may have her thinking that she has a
realistic shot in the 100 as well....traditionally not her strength.

i don't understand why anyone thinks that felix should withdraw from the 100. if she has a chance for another olympic medal she deserves the chance to go for it.

It's just the nice thing to do. I understand your point thoroughly.

Anyone recall the fellow who gave up his slot in the All-Star game to allow Magic Johnson a last go-'round?

It looks like the run-off is canx as Tarmoh decided not to run it. I don't think Felix should give it to Tarmoh as it should be earned by running for it and they were even as the photo finish showed. While Felix got no realistic chance for a medal in the 100, neither does Tarmoh (considering the top 2 Americans and the Jamaican Women) and if it prepares Felix to run an amazing 200 (as she did in the trials) than it's a good thing.

Disappointed there was no run-off. But Tarmoh is an alternate. Maybe that was good enough for her? She still gets to go to the Olympics, and if there is an injury among any of the other three, she gets to run. Still, what great drama that would have been! And now Phelps has withdrawn from the 200 freestyle and will not go for another 8 golds. I am not sure that was realistic anyway. I kind of think this Olympics will be Ryan Lochte's time to shine.

I certainly hope that the USOC gets Tarmoh on the 4x100 relay team so that she can have a shot at a medal that way. No reason why she shouldn't be on it.
