Apparently the Sox have hired Astro coach Alex Cora to be their next manager.
The official announcement will be made after the current Astro/Yanks series.

Right, because they can't upstage the Yanks. Not that the Yanks would ever do that to the Sox by, say, announcing the resigning of Alex Rodriguez in the middle of a Sox play-off game.

You are misremembering. ARod and Boras announced they were optimg out during the Sox World Series game. The yanks and MLB were not happy.
I like to hate on the Yankees but let's be accurate. It's depressing enough that they are winning the World Series this year.
