OT. Real estate in the Mad River Valley (VT)

First off I know VT taxes are crazy. That being said. Anyone own in the Mad River and thoughts about buying now versus two years from now post pandemic. Thx in advance

We rented a brand new house last January right across from Pico halfway up the mountain. It was astonishingly cheap and the house was beautiful. We were trying to figure out why the rental cost what it did, so we looked up real estate. Holy cow--you can buy some new houses in Vermont for well below what it cost to build them. Gotta be the taxes.
