Wichita State coming into the AAC will give some added interest to those Isaiah Whaley - Poor Bear Chandler matchups.

He's going to haunt us with voodoo doll-like skills with his face painted in gold and black war paint.

On a serious note, he may just haunt us with some good basketball skills. But our guys will be for the test, MD-Isaiah-Josh-Cobbster.

WSU fan here. we're trying to figure out what we've got with Chandler. ESPN 4*, 247 Sports 3*, Unrated by Rivals and Scout. Player of the year in Nebraska, but on the second All-State team. Offer list was weak, Nebraska-Omaha, Bowling Green, Southern Illinois, etc. Apparently WSU and New Mexico were his final 2 before he committed to NM.

There's some thought that, since he committed to NM early, the services saw no need to rate him and his recruiting never hit the level it would have, had he not committed early.

67% FG shooter in HS. 66% FT, 44% (4/9) from 3 his Sr year. He doesn't seem to get very far off the floor in his highlights, but maybe he didn't need to with who was defending.

The other Fr we've got next year is a 20-year-old Dane whose height is listed anywhere from 6'10" to 7'0". Asbjorn Midtgaard has been playing (as an amateur) in a pro league that has a lot of mid-major-type former D1 players in the 23-28 year age group. He's done reasonably well against that competition and was named the outstanding Dane in the league.. He's in the 260 - 270 pound range and appears to carry that weight well. He's wide and muscular.

Used to be a TV commercial with a little old lady asking "Where's the beef?" we got some coming in.

Sunrise Christian is a very good basketball (and academic) prep school about 5 miles from the WSU campus. They consistently produce high major D1 players. Buddy Hield (Oklahoma) went there. Their former head coach is an assistant at WSU and WSU has parked a couple of players there for a year for various reasons.

Chandler says he will spend a year at Sunrise to work on his game and his academics. He will be playing with and against mostly future D1 players.
