The point of the reference is that we don’t have a D1 lax team. Seth McFarland is from Connecticut after all. It’s the same reason Wichita State football has been referenced on the show - it doesn’t exist any longer
I didn't realize McFarland was a Connecticut guy. Somebody needs to reach out to him regarding the Hartford Civic Center naming opportunity. The Family Guy Center would be awesome, but "The Orville Arena" would be entirely acceptable.

The accent and the behavior is far more reflective of Rhode Island. Rhode Island is a really interesting place full of characters. It’s truly unique.
