For men and women. I hope the organizers have selected a site with the following factors in mind

If the Rio course is hilly...we should be qualifying on a hilly course. If flat...we run a flat course.
I hope they have made an effort to approximate temperature condtions as well.

I don't know if she is running but you might keep an eye out for Massachusetts' own...
Shalene Flanagan. I saw her dominate the state'shigh school championship in the 2 mile run...Mom a marathoner in her own right.

An American hasn't won the Olympic marathon in ages....let's do it in 2016.

Let me put in another plug for the Women's National Soccer team, playing Mexico today at 4. I watched the streaming of the Costa Rica game (won by the WNT, 5-0) on NBC, and the quality of the picture was perfectly beautiful. Mexico won its opener in Olympic qualifying by 6-0. This should be something of a challenge for the Americans and fun to watch.

Both races were exciting! I loved seeing the emergence of Rupp and I always enjoy watching people who care for each other help each other tough spots in a race. I wish Kara could've caught Desi (and that Desi hadn't passed Shalane) but that's okay.

Shalene really struggled with the heat and said after the race that she would have to adjust her
hydration and runs to better prepare for Rio. She was third but in this race 1-2-3 are the same.
