Alright, I am in town with my wife and son for the game. We are in South Windsor right now and I want to go somewhere great for lunch. I have my own ideas but I’m looking for something different. Given game time and so on, what is your favorite spot between say Glastonbury, West Hartford up 91 North to Springfield.

Critical Factors:

Has to be cool and comfortable and offer great food, beer and atmosphere. Keep in mind that sometime this afternoon, prior to heading to the Rent, I need to pick up a friend in Suffield. So, I really don’t care if the place is in Glastonbury or Enfield, just needs to be great and a can’t miss spot. Thanks for your input.

I'm too late. Artisanal Burger meets the conditions and is close to S. Windsor. They had Ice Cream Man the other day.

Have you been to River yet? Any good?
I often pass by there and it is ALWAYS packed. Their menu looked pretty pedestrian tho. But how badly can they mess up Italian food?

I’m sorry, great atmosphere and location (especially the patio when the heat is tolerable) but their food is trash.

Thanks I didn’t want to be the one to note this.

Hitting River tomorrow for lunch will report back.

Salad was really good. Wings I’d skip. BLT not shown was excellent.

It’s a little weird parking and the hostess is clueless but as long not crowds a solid entry into HH rotation.
