OT: Need help North Carolina

I recently visited a new CT sports bar. Loads of tvs and popular menu. They have lots of sports legends featured on the walls, jerseys, including a wall dedicated to a few UConn accomplishments.

Although, they also have a wall with a dozen college team logos framed. Featured prominently, 20x20 eye level Duke frame. Why? I can understand Yankees, Sox, Jets, Pats, Giants, even Knicks, Celtics.

If I went into any Carolina bars, would they ever feature a UConn logo prominently by a table?

I can understand, wanting to attract the masses, and being everything to everyone fills seats but its just annoying. This is UConn Country. I think I even gagged when I saw Cuse made the wall. I'm sure up state NY has a lot of Husky logos in their pubs. Maybe with darts in them.

I'm in Chapel Hill and I guarantee there would never be Uconn anything anywhere around here. The irony here is great, but duke/unc think of us as a bunch of thugs and cheaters, and they thing calhoun is an arrogant a**hole. NC state could care less as they are well aware they're not in our league basketball wise.

During the '11 season I was out with the girlfriend at some sports bar, and I asked the bartender if he could put on the uconn game. He grabbed the remote and started flipping through the channels, and said, "I can't find the uconn game, but there's a Connecticut game on." That give you some perspective?

It's Duke, Unc, and nothing else around here, not even the rest of the ACC. THey might have the other ACC school flags hung up, but that's it. Even my wahoos get no love down here (although there is a decent alumni crowd so it makes up for it)

That'll change eventually. There's going to be ( and already is ) an influx of UCONN fans heading to Charlotte from my company. After planting the flag, next order of business, find/designate the local UCONN sports bar. Better chance since its 3 hours away from Raleigh.

There are over 600 UCONN alumnus in the greater Charlotte area. However, I have never seen a UCONN poster in any establishment.

It will change because they are going to be introduced to Pitt (Pe-Toowey!! I spit on them) and Quse fans. Two of the lower dregs of college basketball fans- we are going to look like shining stars in their eyes in a year or two.
