I'm considering switching from Eversource to another supplier for G & E, but I'm concerned that most are scams and I won't actually save money.

Has anyone here switched? Who did you switch to and what was result? And should Ollie be fired and Brimah and Purvis banished from the team? Thanks.

All of the energy suppliers and their comparative rates are listed together online in Energize Connecticut. The terms and penalties for switching early are also on there. Just so you know, Eversource has been changing their rates in Jan and July and preannounce that by a couple months, they already announced their new rate in January. If you change, mark it on your calendar so you know when it expires like 2 weeks before so you can check to see if you should switch somewhere else. Sometimes when your rate expires it goes to a much higher rate and you forget all about it. I have a problem with utilities like electricity and cable and having to negotiate and be on top of the rates so you don't get screwed like casino gambling. Same with cable when your good deal expires and your bill with Comcast jumped $50. Many consumers like the elderly aren't computer savvy to be on top of this, so shouldn't there be protection on this? That's my beef.
P.S. Ollie, Purvis, Facey, and Brimah should be required to wash the team jockstraps until they do a better job IMO.

I have had the exact same experience. Your really need to set up a reminder system. I use a calendar program I have had for a long time, which worked well until I had to get my computer fixed. Anyway, I read your post and it reminded me to check and I was able to set it up again. I had the experience of switching and then getting a huge increase after the guaranteed rate ended. The rates have gone down and I went back to Eversource in June for 6 months. Now they have gone up and I will switch again before the end of the year. Agree that lots of people can get lost or stuck in a high rate without understanding.

I have switched suppliers a few times and have saved every time . I just renewed with ConEdison at 7.99 down from 8.45 cents. They did send me a notice that my contract was going to expire and had the new rate. I have not check other rates yet.
