OT: National Ice Cream Day and Month

Sorry for the delay .. But today is National Ice Cream Day and July is National Ice Cream month... So in case u can't celebrate today... U still have two full weeks to celebrate.

Question for yall... What's are some of your favorite flavors of ice cream... And what is ur favorite milkshake?

One of my favorite milkshakes was a “Raspberry Milkshake in a Chocolate Bag” at Domaine Chandon in the Napa Valley. It was a small, very thick raspberry shake in a small piece of dark chocolate shaped like a paper grocery bag.

For something more traditional, the Salted Caramel Shake at Bareburger is delicious.

In terms of ice cream, I make Mele Kalikimaka (Hawaiian for Merry Christmas) at Christmas time: natural vanilla base, toasted macadamias, small chunks of pineapple, cream of coconut, and shredded coconut. The add-ins cost far more than the base vanilla, but it’s fabulous.

Ice cream preference is chocolate peanut butter. It is known by all in the immediate family that grampa has 8 PM ice cream. That would be EVERY evening. There is always some brand of that ice cream flavor in the freezer. Needless to say, my favorite would be DQ's blizzard, Reese's peanut butter cup in chocolate ice cream.

Milk shake??? Not a fan of milk. But, on the other hand, I do like chocolate root beer floats.

S'mores ice cream at A.C. Petersen's in West Hartford and on Route 156 in Old Lyme (the old Hallmark) is my favorite.

But always in the mood for an Oreo or Heath Bar Blizzard at DQ!

I've only seen a huckleberry milkshake as an option twice in my lifetime, and both were outstanding. One in Cooke City, Montana and one in Trout Lake, Washington (a couple weeks ago).
