The Korean woman I married in '79 is a keeper, mainly for putting up with me. I'm pretty cool with my Korean-American daughters. And teaching the 1/4 granddaughters to be a little bit Korean is a project.
You may require a fair dose of soju to accomplish the latter!

Nonetheless, potentially not the worst time to get out of Dodge. Welcome home, it's a much bigger cultural adjustment than many perceive.
I've been through a lot of 'crisis' here, '94 was probably the scariest. this one feels different only because it's suddenly so personal...

Thank your for your service and, when you get here, welcome home. Safe travels.
Where will home be when you return, CT or elsewhere?

wow..congratulations on your tour. Was stationed at Camp Kaiser on the Z and had to put up with Kim Il Sung's loudspeakers every night berating us and telling us to go home. It was a sweet Korean womans voice with venom in her words. I too married a beautiful Korean lady, but alas she has passed.

P.S. did a lot of driving through Seoul...rough driving for sure. Camp Casey and Red Cloud was treacherous driving along the side of the mountains. Glad you are leaving that mess up north with the little king in charge. feel bad for the South Korean people.
