Not a basketball story but something I did want to share with my friends on the BY, and wasn't sure which forum would be appropriate.
My class ring from NC State, lost more than 15 years ago on the Donaldson Center golf course, has been found. A woman contacted my supervisor out of the blue, who called me this morning to pass along contact information.
I put that ring in my golf bag during a round and it must have fallen out, because when I got home that day, the ring was not in there. Apparently, a party playing right behind me on that day came across the ring and a man put it in his golf bag, intent on finding the rightful owner but forgot about it...until last night, when he was cleaning out the bag to give to his daughter and the ring fell out onto the floor in their home. Fortunately, inside the band, I had my full name and social security number, and the woman was able to connect to me through my supervisor at Greenville Tech.
That golf course is long gone and I had long ago given up any hope of ever possessing my class ring again. It's almost like a Christmas miracle. I will be picking up the ring on Thursday.
