Yes, very well deserved. In athletics, you're defined by your competition, and it is an honor for her and for all her opponents.

Interesting that the guy at Notre Dame who wrote the piece used to work at Connecticut (among other places), which is maybe why he sort of slipped in the text by referring to Geno's affiliation as UConn, rather than the more formal University of Connecticut. Or maybe I just do that picky thing of reading texts too closely for a living.....
