OT: March Madness in Las Vegas

I'm going to Vegas the first weekend of March Madness. Any suggestions on what sportbook to go to watch and bet games would be appreciated. I will be staying at the Mirage.

Also, any betting strategies anyone would like to share. I'm fairly naive regarding prop bets.

The Mirage has a great sportsbook. Get down there early to grab a seat. It does fill up quickly.

Some other ones to check out are the Westgate(offstrip) and South Point at the end of the strip a few miles past Mandalay Bay. The South Point has some of the fariest lines for the bettor in Las Vegas.

If you want to venture out to Henderson Green Valley Ranch has a very nice book.

Don't tie yourself down to elaborate all inclusive packages. Research the casinos that allow to you to bet via an app as long as you're on property or in the vicinity as sportsbook lines can be crazy.

Mandalay Bay's sportsbook went bananas for a vcu layup that only factored on a betting line 2 years ago, it's a fun place to hang for a bit.

There's a facebook group specifically for MM in vegas, look it up.

Mirage has a great theatre like sports book set up if you don't feel like leaving.

Play The Street if you hit roulette.

Very festive in the sports book especially when you have a team in the mix, which we don’t but still loads of fun. Maybe when our team re-emerges someday, Boneyard March madness trip to Vegas......

I've heard Mirage is charging admission to their sports book this year. There was a thread on this last year with a lot of good info. See if you can find it.

Venetian has one of the best sport books. Definitely check it out. Great place to watch all the games at once.

You can watch the games from Noodle Asia. Anytime @ Venetian that is a great move. So many other great moves depending where you are on the strip.

I’ll be there as well; staying at mirage. Went last year and stayed at Cosmo.. Aside from their watch party, it was more upscale than needed.

We found several bars/restaurants where we could hold down a barstool for hours and watch games, including twin peaks.

Thanks everyone for all the info. I guess I will stay at the Mirage as long as they're not charging admission. If they are I will try some of the other suggestions. This is definitely a bucket list item for me. My wife is going but she understands that Thursday and Friday she is on her own from 9 to 9.

Very easy. Monte Carlo. And park yourself in the Houdini lounge which is very chill, drink ladies come by constantly, comfortable cushy sitting with TVs and fun crowds cheering their teams on. On top of that, you’ve got a nice little food court selection steps away with all your favorites. March madness first weekend in Vegas is not about fine dining, it’s about grabbing a quick bite and taking it back to your seat and watching the games. Plus, there’s a good sports book inside there and everything is very easy convenient and not 1000 Jack-azzs. I’ve gone for about 9 to 10 years in a row and stayed there once I figured out the lay of the land. just some advice

People are going this year? This is something I've always wanted to do. Discussed with a friend yesterday that we'd go the next time UConn is in the dance with a decent team. Unfortunately, from 1996 to 2015 I have had "quarter-end" at work in March, making it impossible to take time off. Now that finally changed, and UConn sucks.

Avoid Monte Carlo this year, it's one giant construction zone as it's being converted into Park MGM. There's virtually no foot traffic in the resort whatsoever, many places inside are closed here and there, lots of construction noise.
