OT - Lynn Swan named USC's next athletic director

Per ABC news, Former USC standout and Pittsburgh Steeler (2001 HOF) wide receiver Lynn Swan has been named to replace Pat Haden as the next USC athletic director.

They seem to like staying in the family there, and big names as well.

I'll wish him well, I'm not particularly fond of USC athletics. Agin them when we play them, neutral otherwise.

He has had an interesting post playing career with a variety of interests, but he seems like a strange choice for AD - as far as I can see he has never been on the administrative side of things - athlete, owner, TV personality, politician, board member - yes, but actual nuts and bolts of running a corporation which is what a big time athletics department is ... nada.
