Just caught Louis' Lunch on the Travel Channel. Gotta luv a place in business since 1895. I envy all of you who can simply trip on down to Louis' Lunch. Broilers circa 1898! No catsup is the way to go. Have to taste meat. Spot on Louis' Lunch. If I ever get to Connecticut again I have to have a Louis' hamburger or four.

I am one of the fortunate ones;living only 10-15 minutes away and I know where to park. I;ve been going there for 40 years. Quality never varies, sometimes it's just better. If you get burgers there and don't enjoy them, I'll pay for them. Guaranteed.

When I did my hospital Chaplaincy at Yale-New Haven I used to eat there periodically. It was always a good day when I did.

+1 on the above posts. I always hit it when I'm in NH, couple of times year (although it's only 30 minutes away). There's always someone in there now who has stopped off the highway just to eat there. LL is very small, but a taste of history, so if you're somewhat local and never been, you should definately try them.

New Haven has a lot of good eats for a town its size. From your historic places like LL to the pizza joints (Pepe's, Sally's, Modern, Bar, Zinc Pizza Kitchen) to the more upscale (Union League, Zinc, Ibiza, Bespoke), it's pretty impressive. Not the world's biggest NH fan as a whole, but do enjoy making the 50-minute drive down there from time to time.

I'm thinking for you this is a low risk proposition. :D

Love Louie's Lunch, I use to work a block away and always had the Cheese Works. They use to open early and make a good egg sandwich when Pop was around. Now that his son runs it they stay open late. They always get a crowd but it's worth the wait.

Don't forget BAR for pizza and they brew their own beer... try their mash potato & bacon pie... Yea I know most won't call that pizza but is good.
