Blackwolf Run the site....in 1998 Seri Pak started the Asian Invasion by winning there.
I read that 36 of the top 100 in the world are from South Korea....yikes!

Lexi Thompson has in her group Meghan Khan....the 14 year old from eastern Mass who won the Ct. Open.

Michelle Wie has won 20 grand so far this year and ranks 111 on the money list. Double Yikes!

Hi Blakeon...
I missed your writing and on the spot info. about every sport, not just WCBB.
I am hoping that Lexi will become our Annika. Only 17 years old with her tools !
I just hope that everyone will back off of her, and let her work at her own pace.
She has dominated at every level, and I believe that if there is one young golfer who can handle the pressure, it is Lexi.
Let us know if you go to any of the early practices this year.

A couple of years ago I was at a match play event at Wykagyl. I stopped by the driving range after the first round. What I saw probably says everything about the Asian invasion. The range was full. There were 3-4 European players and only one American, Natalie Gulbis who had already been eliminated. The rest of the range was filled with Asian players, their caddies and for most of them, their parents.

Christie Kerr is with the leaders at 3 under....she is a tough cookie on stages like this. Lexi at 2 under is looking good.
If she somehow grabs this one it would be one huge shot in the arm for the LPGA>

BTW: Meghan Khan had a very respectable 3 over 75. I would think the cut might be around 7 over....kid has a shot at it.
Cheyenne Woods also had a 75.

Michelle Wie !!! puts a 66 on the board and is one behind leader Suzanne Pederson with players still on the course.

What an embarassing performance by US golfers. Wie cards a 66 and follows up with a 76 and an 80. Kerr in the hunt on Friday is 10 shots off the lead and heading in the other direction as she lets her head get the best of her game. Phenom Thompson is showing her youth. She's +7 for today's round after contending at the end of yesterday's round. Creamer is playing OK but just that.

The fat lady hasn't sung, but it's all over now. A real stinker for American women's golf.

On the men's side, Tiger and Phil failed to make the cut in the same event--for the first time ever.

you get to carnegie hall, and back on top in women's golf, the same way- practice, practice, practice. have to wonder whether the next generation of u.s. women golfers will make the sacrifice.
