Good game, Boston isn't going to be an easy out.

NY leads series 1-0.

Yes they will, Celtics are too old and Carmelo is too good. This series will end it 5 games i think.

if Terry and Lee continue to give them nothing from the guard spots the Cs have no chance

Terry is shot. He's been terrible this year. Pains me to say it but the Cs are done.

It pains me to watch a game where a star bitches about a call then get's a make up call down the other end, with a phantom thrown in right after.......it worked both ways and I'm not sure the NBA refs are much better than the women's basketball refs quite honestly!!

The Celtics don't have a point guard on the active roster, this series isn't going to last long. No idea why every ESPN pundit thinks it's going to be a great, 7-game series.

wait what? Celtics were gassed but lets not ignore how bad the Knicks looked @ home. still looks like a tight series. They need Bradley and green to be more consistent. In Avery's case, less cheap fouls.

The Celts didn't get one FG from their second unit. They were dreadful.

It will help getting Prigioni back for game 2 and have Copeland come off the bench. Jason Kidd was the player of the game I thought. Tyson looked rusty as hell, he says hes 100 pct hopefully thats what it is is rust.

It was a great pregame tribute by Melo and Pierce. I hope the recent events in Boston won't effect the intesity between both teams and fans (sports wise).

Obviously this is the M.O. of pro basketball in general, but it's SO boring watching Anthony continually try to do it all by himself in 1 on 1 action. I seriously wish they'd at least attempt to run a little offense.

The Celtics almost pulled it out lulling the Knicks into Melo-ball -- he was on a 2/11 stretch in the first half taking a ton of his patented contested long 2's (which is the worst shot in basketball).

I noticed that. But I don't watch enough NBA on a regular basis to be any kind of intelligent analyst. I get that he's the "star", but I don't get that coaches can't somehow find a way to have them play more like a team.

I've actually enjoyed watching teams like OKC, who even tho they have superstars, don't seem to play such a majority of 1 on 1 hoops. And other teams with no "stars" who need to rely on playing team ball.

People tend to react like game 1 is the end all be all of the series. It is a seven game series. That being said, if the Celtics turn the ball over 20+ times, this will be a short series. If they can take care of the ball and rebound just a little, they can make this a long series with a chance to steal it.

I think the Celtics are too undermanned at this point to pull off this series but I agree they will all be tough games.

The Knicks are just a better team this season, and they're getting (relatively) healthy and hot at the right time.

If KG were actually healthy (he's probably about 60%), the C's would have had a better shot. I think their pride carries this series to six games or so, but I have a hard time seeing them pull it out.

Prigs and Felton on the floor together helps keep the ball moving so I totally agree. If we can win game 2 and steal one in Boston I'm confident this is over in 5.

I'll defer to the people who watch more Knicks games than I do, but Carmelo is a classic ball-stopper, like Rudy. He's at his best when he gets the ball in an iso. That being said, he's one of the best one-on-one offensive players in the game. To Woodson's credit, he's created a pretty nice offensive scheme around letting Carmelo isolate on guys and then surrounding him with shooters. Tough for defenses to stay attached to shooters and not help on Melo, which gives guys like Smith and Kidd plenty of open looks.

The Thunder's offense is pretty isolation heavy, they really only have two guys who can create their own shot in Westbrook and Durant and they handle and iso a ton. Brooks doesn't really run any plays.

Well deserved and a complete no brainer. JR is definetly the number 2 guy on the Knicks and you could say the team MVP the way he had to step up when Melo was out. Starks and Mason were the 2 previous Knicks to win the award. Crawford had a great year too but JR had to account for more on his team.

Game 2 is on MSG and TNT. So much better hearing Breen and Frazier call the game.
