>>Treadwell, who left his job as Michigan State’s offensive coordinator to take the Miami job in December 2010, was in his third season coaching the RedHawks and finishes 8-21. He is the third coach in major college football to be fired this season joining USC’s Lane Kiffin and UConn’s Paul Pasqualoni.<<

In addition to head coach Don Treadwell, Miami (Ohio) fires offensive coordinator John Klacik:

Steve Berkowitz @ByBerkowitz
Fired Miami (Ohio) coach Don Treadwell is an alum of school, was in third season of 5-year contract. Per contract, buyout is $900,000+

**Couple of messages imo - Big school coordinators are not always a home run and times are changing as far as AD latitude (especially with a new AD in the house).

Oh - Miami-Ohio AD Dave Sayler is a CT guy who graduated from UConn (Masters - Sport Mgmt), worked @ UConn @ same time and was also an Asst. AD @ UHart.

Moreheads got experience coaching in the midwest...Wouldn't be surprised seeing him end up there.

So Miami of Ohio, which has sucked for the most part since Terry Hoeppner left at the end of 2004, and had a bigger buyout than UConn did, fired their coach at roughly the same pace as we did.

Moorhead is at his Alma Mater in the big city, plus Nebrich has another year. Right now Ball State looks like a sideways move for him. Ditto for Ambrose.

Ball St? I thought Miami of Ohio was looking for a coach.

Moorehead going to Miami of Ohio would be a good move for him.

Both my kids went/go to Miami. I attend all the home games and know a few of the coaches and administration. They take tremendous pride as "the cradle of coaches" and are very serious about winning at their level. They have no expectations for BCS games but they want to win the MAC annually.
That being said, I was shocked they fired Treadwell during the season. The kids play hard but the play-calling has been horrid. Think GDL x 2. Treadwell must have just mailed it in to get sacked mid season. According to one of my tailgate buddies, who played for Bo at Miami and then spent 30 years as a MAC ref, they never have had to fire a coach, they just didn't renew their contract. This is big news in Oxford.

Unless Moorehead has Miami ties, theres no chance he'll be the head coach. They'll bring in a Miami grad or a past Miami assistant.

Miami of Ohio is a lateral move from Fordham? The stuff you read here...

Moorhead will run the table on the regular season and make the FCS playoff, he can do it again next year, no way he leaves that and Nebrich for a rebuilding job at Miami of Ohio. If he keeps winning he can hop over the MAC conference for his next job. Yes you heard it in the Boneyard!

He's going to go from reduced scholarship FCS to what the AAC? I guess that chance exists, but let's not pretend Miami of Ohio is a frigging lateral move from Fordham.
