Was visiting the Oregon Zoo today on our vacation and saw 2 of Ice's relatives relaxing there like they owned the place. One of them was napping against the glass window he installed so that he wouldn't get too disturbed by gawkers. Later, he/she went swimming a bit.

To be blunt, Ice has some very big relatives. When I first saw the bear, I thought it's paw was a whole another animal. Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Later saw a Sea Lion - large - and some Sea Otters (not so large) in adjoining exhibits. The notes explained that, with decreases in the availability of Sea Lions for Orca Whale dinner (with a lot of nutritious fat on their bodies), the Orcas are now dining on Sea Otter instead at a rate of 1,825 Otters per year per whale, reducing the population in the Aleutians by 80% in 25 years. Fascinating.

I've seen Sea Otters frolicking and body surfing at and near Pebble Beach. They are so cool. Everyone otter see Sea Otters. :)
